Project Description:
Refurbishment of Eglish National School included:

  • Removing existing roof finishes down to the rafters, and fit new slate roof, including tyvex and battens
  • New fasica, soffit, gutters and down pipes
  • New ceiling joists to classroom 2.
  • Demolition works -Internal walls and chimney, floors and all fixtures and fittings as well as demolition of existing pre-fabricated structure.
  • Complete rewiring and new central heating system installed including new sinks and units to both classrooms.
  • Dry lining all internal walls and construction of a new 200mm wide partition walls between classrooms using sound insulating materials.
  • Intallation of new plasterboard ceilings to all areas including access hatches
  • Painting and decorating.
  • Replacement of all windows and doors with new double glazed windows
  • General refurbishment and repairs.
  • Construction of small, flat roofed extension at the rear of the school adjacent to the existing toilets for use as a store room.
  • Construction of a new pre-fabricated classroom at the rear of the school to house a classroom, special needs assistant room, new wheelchair accessible toilet and shower room and new male and female toilets. Structure makes use of high quality, highly insulated panels from SIP Energy Ltd.
  • Construction of new concrete base to support new classroom as well as associated M&E works, drainage and wastewater connection to existing system.
  • Works around the site including fencing, tarmacadam surfacing, installation of new gates etc
