General Project Description

Site clearance of the site and a new access road. The fencing of the land for the farmer both temporary and permanent. The excavation for the road into the bridge and associated drainage works. The drainage works including drains, service duct, filter drains and headwalls.

Due to the nature of the existing ground condition on site the foundation had to be broken out using a excavator. A concrete foundation was then poured to take the Opti-carde units.

Bridge Works:

Once the foundation was in place the Opti-cadre precast panels were delivered to site and were erected by Coffey construction staff. Once the panels were in place and secure the installation for the VSL Panels for the abutment and wingwalls started. Once this was in place a reinforced concrete bank seat was constructed. The bridge deck was constructed using precast concrete beams with a length of 30m. Once the bridge deck was in place the precast concrete parpet walls were lifted into place. The bridge deck was constructed using reinforcement and C40 concrete. The deck was then waterproofed and backfilling for the ramps up to the bridge took place. This backfill was a type 1 material that was compacted in layers. The deck and ramps were sprayed and chipped for pavement constructions. Both temporary and permanent safety barrier and guardrail construction was installed. Crash barrier (N2W4) was installed on both sides of the bridge to NRA standards and the installation of fencing to the farmer lands
